JCSC RESPONSIBILITIES

       Campus Programming:

You need to plan programs for engagement students especially in your three target groups.

You are responsible for the logistics of the program: these include set up, clean up, publicity, and evaluation.

You should get to know the people on campus who can help make the program successful.  These include RAs, desk attendants, Tulane employees, and Campus reservations.

       Mentoring and Referral:

Make an effort to spend one and one time with the students so you can better understand their needs.

Be available for student-initiated meetings regarding a variety of issues: school, Hillel, family, friends, etc.

Refer students to other resources if they need help.

Provide a recommendation when necessary.

       Hillel Obligations:

Attend Leaders Assembly in August, and Professional Staff Conference in December.

Work Shabbat when scheduled.  I attended virtually every Shabbat, but next year it might be different.

Work big Jewish holiday events including the High Holidays, Passover Seder, Chanukah, and Purim.

Provide support for major Hillel programs.

Write monthly articles discussing the job for the Jewish News.

       Administration:

Meet with Coach on a regular basis.

Help to maintain the appearance of the building.

Assist with answering the phones.

Set up and clean up for some activities at the building.

Maintain records of programs and attendance.

Keep receipts for credit card purchases and reimbursements.
